Will Kylie Jenner Launch Her Own Wine Label?

Over the years, the Kardashian-Jenner empire has grown to span everything from tanning gel to emojis (“Kimojis”, if you will). So it was only a matter of time that wine got added to the mix. Via TMZ, Kylie Jenner has filed for a trademark on her name for the category “spirits, liquor, wine, alcoholic cocktail mixes, prepared alcoholic cocktail, prepared wine cocktails” and “restaurants, bars, and cocktail lounges”.

The trademark might explain Jenner’s recent Instagram post. Its caption, “another day another episode of me minding my own business,” possibly alludes to her wine-related endeavor. In the photo, Jenner sips a glass of Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio. As with all things Kardashian-Jenner, the post quickly made its rounds on the internet for her wine choice, which costed only $20.

It might seem surprising that Kylie, who only recently hit the legal drinking age, would be the one in the family to launch a wine. But of the Kardashian-Jenners, Kylie is actually the most successful entrepreneur. Her cosmetics business is reportedly worth nearly $1 billion, according to Forbes. So while Kim Kardashian West might be more famous, Kylie seems to resonate with consumers in a way that makes her much more effective at selling. As a whole, the move is brilliant — Kylie’s fans are also finally turning 21 as well, and they’ll inevitably be looking for wine to drink.

Wine is just one element of Kylie Jenner’s ever-expanding empire. Alongside the wine and spirits trademarks filed on June 24, 2019 are trademarks for baby carriers, rugs and textiles, lamps and lighting fixtures, baskets, and kitchen appliances. So wine just might be the beginning of Kylie Jenner’s move beyond cosmetics.

Details about Kylie Jenner’s new wine remain under wraps. For now, all we can guess is that there will be a white wine. Jenner has previously stated an aversion to rosé — and as alluded to in the Instagram photo, she appears to be a white wine drinker. This will likely be an affordable, accessible wine, similar to the photographed Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio. Stay posted for more updates as they become available.
