Best Costco Value Wines – Updated May 2024

Does inflation have you feeling pinched while wine shopping? Fortunately, Costco sells some excellent wines under $25. Read on for the latest Costco value wines that are balanced, delicious, and affordable.

To assess wine quality, we researched each wine and also compared it against the largest wine review site, Vivino. While Costco often posts point ratings from media publications, our philosophy is that every individual palate tastes wine differently. Thousands of customer ratings will yield a more reliable result than, say, a Robert Parker rating from one wine critic. In addition to Vivino, we have also personally many of these wines just to validate whether we agree with the rating.

Please note: wine selections vary by Costco store. Check ahead to ensure availability at your local Costco. Some of these wines also go in and out of rotation, so if you don’t see them, keep an eye out during future visits. Where possible, we’ve included a photo of the bottles on shelves to help you more quickly locate them.

Best Costco Value White, Rosé and Sparkling Wines Under $25 – Updated May 2024

Clos Henri Vineyard Estate Sauvignon Blanc
marlborough, new zealand – $13.99

If you typically find New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to be too in-your-face with tropical fruit and grass aromas, Clos Henri offers a Sancerre-like alternative. This eco-conscious estate produces organic, biodynamic wines in Wairau Valley’s glacial terroir. Drinkers loved its very delicate tropical and stone fruit aromatics, with herbal undertones making only a light presence. On the palate, its zip of minerality, crisp acidity, and clean, dry finish make it an excellent wine for shellfish or tart foods like goat cheese.

Bedrock Wine Co. Ode to Lulu Rosé
california – $19.99

We’re fans of Bedrock’s environmentally-conscious approach to viticulture, which includes organic, old-vine, and mostly dry-farmed wines. Their resulting wines offer incredible value, with balance, aromatics, and approachability. The Ode to Lulu Rosé regularly retails at $25-26 elsewhere, so of course we’re snapping it up at just $19.99. Drinkers loved its refreshing strawberry, melon, and citrus flavors, tinged with crisp minerality on the finish. 76% Mourvèdre, 16% Syrah, and 8% Grenache

Château Haut-Bergeron Sauternes
sauternes, france – $19.99

Château Haut-Bergeron is one of the oldest makers of Sauternes, dating back to 1756. This sweet dessert wine made from botrytized Semillon grapes offers excellent value. Drinkers loved its honeyed notes of apricot, marmalade, and peach, along with hints of caramel, ginger, and dried fruit. Its sweetness is nicely counterbalanced by high, piercing acidity and a lengthy finish.

Saracco Moscato d’Asti
Asti, Piedmont, Italy – $11.99

This moscato is excellent with chocolate-covered strawberries or 30% milk chocolate. It offers beautifully honeyed aromatics of stone fruit and blossoms, carried on a lightly effervescent frame of fine, delicate bubbles. It has just enough sweetness to pair well with chocolate, but not be cloying. At its spectacularly-low price of $11.99, I would have this bottle on hand for desserts in the future.

Best Costco Value Red Wines Under $25 – Updated May 2024

Kirkland Signature Cuvée du Terroir des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2022
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, france – $19.69

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a small region in France’s Rhone Valley known for its terroir of large galettes, or stones. The resulting wines usually fetch $60+ per bottle for their depth of flavor and aromatics, but Kirkland never fails to produce its own value version. Drinkers found that it offered excellent value for the region, with leathery cherry, plum, and blackberry aromatics, laced with plenty of black pepper and oak spice. Its approachable fruit is balanced by bold tannins and acidity.

The Four Graces Pinot Noir 2021
willamette valley, oregon – $19.99

This estate-grown wine is a blend of three different vineyards in the Willamette Valley’s Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Dundee Hills AVA, and Van Duzer Corridor AVAs. Drinkers loved its earthy cherry, raspberry, and strawberry aromas, layered with oak and spice notes. This is a light-bodied wine with fresh acidity and smooth tannins.

Château des Adouzes Frère et Soeur Faugères
Faugères, france – $18.39

This entirely estate-grown, hand-harvested wine is a 70% Grenache Noir, 25% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre blend from France’s southerly Faugères region. Its 70+ year old vines are deeply rooted into the infertile rock soil, yielding concentration and freshness. Drinkers enjoyed its silky dark fruit, earthy undertones, and lengthy finish.

Daou Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
Paso Robles, CA – $19.89

It’s rare to find a quality Napa Valley cab for under $20. Daou Vineyards is one of the few that consistently hits the mark with its balance of approachable dark fruit and structured tannins. Drinkers loved its ripe blackberry, black cherry, and currant notes, rounded out by toasty vanilla and dark chocolate on the finish. This is a medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that is somewhat lighter in tannins, and not overextracted like all too many California cabs.
