Most celebrities don’t share the brands they consume, unless they are being paid. In a rare move, musician Dua Lipa broke with this trend. Lipa revealed the exact wines she drank during a recent trip to Paris, France on Instagram. Read on to learn more about these wines.
“I never make a quick trip to Paris without taking a crate of my favourite wine back home with me,” Lipa stated in the caption. She doesn’t specify which exact wines went into this crate. However, she does share three wines, two of which are possible candidates.
Dua Lipa’s Preferred Wines, Revealed
The first wine Lipa shows is in the second photo card. It is the luxurious combination of Laurent Perrier La Cuveé, caviar, blinis, creme fraiche, and fries. There appear to be some grilled sandwiches on the side as well. La Cuveé is Laurent Perrier’s hallmark non vintage Champagne. It is a majority of over 50% Chardonnay, 30-35% Pinot Noir, and 10-15% Pinot Meunier. Laurent Perrier’s La Cuveé is widely available worldwide, so it is unlikely that Lipa took an entire case home.
Lipa’s favorite wine may be on the fourth photo card, which shows a her removing a bottle from a box. The wine is made by Emilie Mutombo, a natural wine producer from Penedès, Catalonia (Catalunya), Spain. This one, named ET, is a blend of indigenous varietals, Garrut and Cartoixa Vermell. It’s a light-bodied dry red wine that is fresh, earthy, and easy-drinking.
The third wine is on the final photo card. It is Corentin Houillon’s Montée Furieuse from Savoie, France. Houillon is a natural and biodynamic winemaker from the Savoie region of France. This particular bottle is from the Jacquère grape, and offers flinty minerality, crisp acidity, stone fruit and citrus, and a hint of vegetable aromatics. While a small handful of wine shops list the Montée Furieuse online, it is no longer in stock. So, it is possible that the Montée Furieuse is also amongst the wines Dua Lipa took home.
Dua Lipa Shares Even More Wines in Follow Up Post
The following week, Dua Lipa was out the Parisian wine bars, onto Spain’s Catalonian wine region. Here, she unveiled even more boutique winemakers from the natural winemaking circle of Spain.
First up is a photo of herself at Clos Lentiscus, a biodynamic winemaker that makes its wines without sulfur, and grows its grapes without any pesticides or herbicides.
Next is an Arbois-Pupillin Chardonnay made by Emmanuel Houillon and Pierre Overnoy, one of the pioneers of natural winemaking in France’s Jura region. This is no ordinary Chardonnay – it has an average retail price of $747!
Then, onto Partida Creus, another family-owned natural winemaker that specializes in indigenous varietals. And finally, she shares more Emilie Mutombo wines, including a Xarelina made of Xarello and a Merlotte, which is a Merlot-Tempranillo blend.
Ultimately, we think it’s amazing that Dua Lipa is surfacing so many artisanal winemakers to the world. She has a sophisticated palate, and it is enlightening to follow her journey. Enjoyed this article about a few of Dua Lipa’s favorite wines? Check out our other articles on celebrity wines here.
