The famed Napa Valley Wine Train just released dates for a Harry Potter-inspired experience — and they are already sold out. In this Wizarding World-themed ride, guests partake in an interactive mystery theater performance while dining on a three-course dinner “prepared by elves”.
The Wizarding World experience is currently slated for October 17th and 24th. We are in contact with the Napa Valley Wine Train to learn whether additional spaces will open up. In the meantime, eager Muggles can hop over to the Napa Valley Wine Train website to learn more about the other murder mystery-themed events.
For example, consider the masquerade ball-themed “Crime and Punishment”, speakeasy night-themed “Death of A Gangster”, or 80’s concert-themed “Totally 80’s Totally Murder”, available on select dates throughout 2020. All promise a similarly suspenseful, immersive experience.
The “Wizarding World” show does not appear to be officially affiliated with Harry Potter. However, its theme does set the scene for a unique experience. The train winds through the scenic Napa Valley to reach “the school” (presumably Hogwarts) . Meanwhile, guests work to solve a murder mystery on the train with “classmates, teachers, and magical beasts”. Guests are invited to dress up in witch or wizard robes, and show support for their favorite house. During the ride, they will join in with “classmates, teachers, and magical beings” to solve the mystery of an unexpected murder on the train. Those who can solve the mystery may win an award.
To note, a ticket for the wine train itself does not include wine. Guests can choose from approximately 40 bottles of wine on the Napa Valley Wine Train wine list to consume onboard. Guests can also bring their own bottles on board for a corkage fee, which is waived with the purchase of an additional bottle. The “Wizarding World” ride does not stop at any wineries; this is purely a dinner and theater experience.
