New Yorkers Now Have a Canned Wine of their Own: VINNY

First Terrassen. Then Empire Estates. Now, NoMad Restaurant Wine Director Thomas Pastuszak is launching his third New York wine, VINNY. Pastuszak’s goal: to take premium sparkling wine to the next level, by putting it into convenient cans.

Skeptical? If Pastuszak’s Instagram feed full of vintage wine is any evidence, we can trust has the discerning palate to make premium canned wine happen.

But while he may spend plenty of time traveling through Bordeaux and Burgundy, Pastuszak is passionate about supporting emerging wine regions. In particular, his focus is close to home, on New York’s Finger Lakes. VINNY is sourced from the Seneca and Cayuga lakes, and the name stands for wine (“VIN”) from New York (“NY”).

VINNY is a crisp, effervescent blend of Riesling and Gruner Vetliner. It is made by Kelby Russell, who is also winemaker for Pastuszak’s other wine labels, Terrassen and Empire Estates. The wine has notes of green apple, lemon, and lime.

VINNY is currently sold in New York and New Jersey, with plans to expand to the rest of the United States soon. It can also be purchased online at $6.60 per can from Bottlerocket Wine & Spirit. Visit vinnywines.com to learn more.
