In a show of resilience, wine regions across California are banding together to support wildfire relief. No matter where you live, there’s likely an effort near you. With wildfire losses currently estimated at $1 billion and growing, according to the California Department of Insurance, every donation matters.
For the wine industry, the impact will be felt for years. With so much housing destroyed in the fires, much-needed low-cost labor may not be able to afford living in the Napa/Sonoma area. Many of the 2017 grapes are slated to go into wines released over the next 1-4 years. These will now be smaller vintages.
So go ahead, support #CAWineStrong efforts through these winery efforts and events.
