Valerie Bertinelli Launches Bertinelli Estates Wines

What pairs well with Valerie Bertinelli’s spicy penne arrabbiata? Bertinelli Wine, of course! After hosting a Food Network cooking show and publishing two cookbooks, Valerie Bertinelli is now starting her own line of wines to pair with all of those recipes.

Valerie announced the launch of Bertinelli Estates wines on Instagram. There are three classic crowd-pleaser varietals/blends: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Red Blend. Initially, there was also a Moscato, but it no longer appears to be available.

The wines appear to be a collaboration with Sonoma Coast Vineyards. While Sonoma Coast Vineyards is a small-lot winemaker specializing in cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Bertinelli Estates will not be specific to the Sonoma Coast. Instead, all Bertinelli Estates wines are classified as California wines, meaning they can be sourced anywhere in the state of California.

Learn more or buy Bertinelli Estates at their website here. Shockingly, despite inflation, the prices of the wines have changed little over the past few years. The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2018 Red Blend retail at $75 for 3 bottles, while the 2018 Chardonnay is $65 for three bottles.

Will we see more wines from Valerie Bertinelli? Unclear, but the trademark filed for Bertinelli Estates covers both wine and alcoholic beverages, so we may see more than just wine in the future!

The red wine blend had a very strong and odd taste with a lingering bad finish. Heavy burnt oak with a leather/tobacco taste along with a taste I couldn’t recognize. I bought the 3 bottles red set and was very surprised on the bad blend. Not a good wine. I will try some of her other wines but I hope she changes her mix on this one. Red wine is always my go to. I’m going to be giving the other two bottles of her red wine blend away. It’s not something I will ever buy again unless she improves it. I am very disappointed.

I purchased the 3-bottle Rose and 3-bottles of the Sangiovese. Liked them both very much. Ordered a second 3-bottle set of the Rose which I really enjoyed.

    1. Wonderful, thanks for sharing! It sounds like people really love Bertinelli Estates.

I love Valerie Bertinelli wines I purchased from QVC the Rose and Sangiovese. Very delicious fine wines. I guess I’m in good company as these wines varieties are hard to come by recently.
