March is Taste Washington Wine Month

This March, America’s second largest wine region celebrates Taste Washington Wine Month. With over 900 wineries and one of the most successful recent harvests in 2016, expect plenty of celebration across Washington state.

The capstone event for this month is Taste Washington, from March 23rd – 26th. Taste Washington is the largest single-region food and wine festival in the United States. Given that this year is 20th anniversary of this event, expect an expanded lineup that includes special events and tastings.

Event highlights for Taste Washington include:

  • Wine Seminars: Meet wine legend Karen McNeil, author of The Wine Bible, or put your tastebuds to the test in a blind tasting session that pits Old World against New world
  • Taste Washington on the Farm: A gourmet lunch at the all-organic Tahoma Farms or environmentally sustainable Oxbow Farm & Conservation Center, paired with local wines
  • The New Vintage: A night of wine tasting, dancing, and gourmet cuisine held at the Four Seasons

Can’t make Taste Washington? Dozens of other wineries will be honoring the success of Washington wines with special events and discounts. For example, Wine.Woot is offering daily deals through March 17th, Eternal Wines and Silvara Vineyards are waiving their tasting fees, and The Capital Grille in Seattle will be hosting a 5-course dinner paired with Mark Ryan wines.
