3 Female Winemaker-Led Events to Celebrate Womens’ Month

Want to support women and wine? March is Women’s Month, and throughout the next month, we at The Wine Daily will be celebrating by sharing out (wine-centric) ways to celebrate.

To start, here are 3 cool events to support:
Women Winemakers Dinner
Wednesday, March 8
Santa Barbara, CA
Where else can you get over a dozen female winemakers pouring you wines alongside a 5-7 course feast prepared by female restaurateurs? Proceeds will benefit the Womens Fund of Northern Santa Barbara County. And at just $75, this is definitely an accessible-yet-indulgent way to sample from winemakers including Fiddlehead, Cambria, and Lumen, alongside cuisine from Bacon & Brine, Baker’s Table, Union Hotel, and more.

Burgundy Winemaker’s Dinner
Tuesday, March 7
San Francisco, CA
Winemaker Amélie Berthaut of Domaine Denis Berthaut is a rising star in the Burgundy world. In honor of International Women’s Day, Piccino restaurant is bringing us not only the opportunity to meet Amélie, but also the opportunity to sample 8 wines paired with 4 courses (that’s two per course!). The list includes 2014 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits, 2014 Fixin, 2013 Fixin “les Crais”, 2013 Fixin “les Clos”, 2014 Fixin “les Clos”, 2014 Fixin “en Combe Roy”, 2014 Fixin 1er Cru “les Arvelets”, and 2014 Vosne Romanée. Tickets are $131.

CEDM Festa Della Donna
Sunday, March 12
San Diego, CA
Eight female chefs and eight winemakers and distillers will convene to serve a delicious dinner. The program includes names such as Pacific Standard Coastal Kitchen, Addison Restaurant, and Ryme Cellars, as well as interactive fiber art and live music. Proceeds will go towards Center for Community Solutions and the Lawyers Club of San Diego’s Fund for Justice.
