[Amazon Wine Finds] Chateau Phelan Segur, Bachelor Wines, and Fifty Shades of Grey

Your rundown of what’s new in the world of Amazon Wine:
1 cent shipping on Fifty Shades of Grey Wines
That’s right. Fifty Shades of Grey, the movie, actually has a wine. And while this wine has a $5 per bottle markup on Amazon, perhaps the 1 cent shipping deal they are offering on it will compensate? Given that Fifty Shades Darker comes out on February 10th, this might be a somewhat timely purchase.
In the beginning of this year, we reported that the Bachelor is launching a line of wines. Now, it appears they are available on Amazon.com at $17.96 each. Select from the Fantasy Suite Cabernet, One on One Chardonnay, and the Final Rosé.
The storied Chateau Phelan Segur is a Grand Cru of Medoc, in the heart of the Bordeaux Left Bank. At just $40.95 per bottle, the 2012 Saint Estephe is a steal, and the Amazon markup is minimal. This is a 50% Merlot/50% Cabernet blend built for aging. Via the tasting notes, this should be a dark, smoky, powerful, and earthy wine. There are only twelve bottles left at the time of this writing.
